“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.” (T.S. Elliot)

The S24H International Ultra Running Race is an ultra-marathon which consists in covering the longest distance in 6, 12, or 24 hours of running, on a 1222,48 meter paved asphalt loop, lit during night time. The competition takes place in “Ion Creanga” Children’s Park from Timisoara, Romania.

The contest is addressed to professional or amateur athletes, passionate about long-distance running, eager to test their physical and mental limits.

The fourth edition of the S24H competition will take place on 25th-26th May 2019 in Timisoara. Simultaneous with this international competition, there will be held the second edition of the 6, 12 and 24-hour National Championship, where Romanian athletes will compete.

International certification

  • In the 2016 and 2017 editions, the S24H competition has been awarded the Bronze Label certification by IAU (International Association of Ultrarunners) and the results of the runners were included in the international ultramarathon rankings.
  • In the 2018 edition, the 24h race received the Golden Label certification granted by IAU, as a consequence of the excellent results obtained by participating athletes at the previous editions.

If you decide to take part in S24H Ultra Running Race, we would like to thank you and guarantee a transforming experience that will provide you the opportunity to spend enough time with yourself in order to discover who you really are. We wish you great success and we are looking forward to seeing you to Timisoara, to write history together!

Why S24H?

Diana Amza – the Manager of S24H Ultra Running Race – also likes ultra-running herself and she has already covered ultra-marathons of 53 km, 61 km and 100 km.

The idea of organizing the S24H race originated in the will to offer all runners an opportunity to surpass their current limits and to discover the lessons offered by long distance running which can also be applied into daily life: to see beyond your present limitations, to trust your body, to consolidate your mental abilities, to successfully fulfill a task despite your physical and mental fatigue, to increase your discipline and perseverance, to learn how to feel comfortable in uncomfortable situations, to achieve the certainty that you can overcome any obstacle that crosses your path.
